old is new; new is old

We enjoyed a week in Quebec City in the summer and one night while walking along the edge of the St. Lawrence river in old Quebec, we turned and had a look at our hotel, Le Chateau Frontenac. Chateau translates to castle in french, and this is a perfect description for the hotel when you view it from any angle. I spent 30 minutes taking photos, and this was my favourite.
The exposure was a bit longer to accomodate the dusky blue sky and evening light, and this created a neat effect...Vieux-Quebec was buzzing with traffic and modernism, in stark contrast with the centuries old architecture the roads weave through.
