My Gold Floor Glow

Everyday, walking into the Copley Plaza, I felt like there was a glow around me bright enough for other people to see --  one that said “Look where I'm spending the night! Look!!!” My step, even after a day of walking straight across Boston and back, turned from a drag to a near-strut. I was waiting for someone to start playing upbeat music and for the fan to turn on so my hair could blow out behind me. People opened doors for me, offered me free fresh-out-of-the-oven cookies (the best part!) and cleaned up the chess board seconds after I left the Gold Floor lounge, even though I’d only moved one pawn.
