Jumping for Joy!

Fairmont San Francisco

The San Francisco Fairmont has always been near and dear to my heart because ever since I was seven, my grandmother has taken me with her to the Gingerbread Tea during Christmas time (even the year she had cancer), and it is still an event that I look forward to every year.

As much as my grandma is sweet, my six-year-old brother is crazy, and last year, my family took the risk of going to the "Fancy Fairmont" (as he called it) to celebrate our dad's birthday. Upon arriving, we found out that a Texas Roadhouse convention was being hosted there and to promote it, there was a huge, blow-up armadillo on the front lawn! After my brother spent a few minutes basking in its glory, he ran straight up to our room, proceeded to strip of his shirt, and then he jumped on the bed like a madman. Thanks to our President’s Club upgrade, we were able to get a room with an amazing view of the City and the (miraculously) fog-free San Francisco Bay behind it.  I was able to capture this great shot of my brother “jumping for joy” in the shadows with our gorgeous view practically glowing behind him.
