Summer success story

We all know the Fairmont is always breathtaking, the lobby, views to the ocean and the wonderful staff.
With a family of 7, (5 kids, 1 wife, yes they are all mine!), its always a challenge to keep everyone happy and entertained

As the hotel staff, pool attendance, front desk manager and valet will agree, children are a delight and a challenge.
Enter, the teenagers! always looking for an adventure, lots of energy and questions, and of course "why can't see xxx"

As I was inspecting the hammock (aka: trying to sneak in a nap), Ashley my wonderful 14 year old, asked,
"daddy, daddy, daddy, I'm BORED) I've been to the pool, ocean, made friends, did all the activities, there's nothing to do!
and all you want to do is sleep, what about us!....I want to see a volcano! alva, like in the movies

Well as you can tell, nap over, and off to find volcano. I went to the Concierge, said I wanted to get my kid's excited about Maui, to put down the iPads, texting, headphones, and tv and GET OUTSIDE, and get your head out of the cloud..

SO they suggested" Instead of getting their heads out of the clouds, "how would we like to walk on them! "

Of course, we are always up for a challenge, well Fairmont map in hand and directions from the trusty bell staff, we went and climbed to the top of Haleakala Summit 10,023ft , is a massive shield volcano that forms more than 75% of the Hawaiian Island of Maui.

The attached image is directly above the Fairmont as Ashley walked on the clouds!

In summary, when faced with a teenage challenge, call the Fairmont Concierge!
