A Walk Down Memory Lane

Each night we had cocktails in the Fairmont Copley Plaza’s Oak Bar where we drank in exquisite surroundings and to-die-for martinis.  The ambiance is akin to a grand library with dimly-lit table lamps, comfortable chairs and ages-old mahogany walls.   I could visualize the Brahmins making gentlemen’s agreements here.  After drinks, we strolled through the ornate lobby, where Katie, the black lab mascot, presides.  The gold-leafed Grand Ballroom was where I graduated from college over 40 years ago.  One of the staff offered to take my husband's and my picture in the lobby on the magnificent carpet, and in front of an exquisite flower arrangement.  I felt like a princess!
