Sonoma Wine Country’s iconic destination resort has recently unveiled a comprehensive multi-million dollar renovation project. The sophisticated updates include classic Fairmont rooms, Wine Country Suites, the handsome Lobby, award-winning Santé dining room, meeting space, resort landscaping and the addition of a new Wine Lounge, aptly named 38º North.

New, upscale and contemporary features have been added to guestrooms, suites and signature meeting spaces. The effect in the guestrooms and corridors is a design palette of quiet sophistication that leverages the hotel’s rich history and iconic Wine Country heritage, while also meeting the needs of today’s chic and contemporary traveler.

The new Wine Country lifestyle inspired Lobby provides a refined and relaxed setting where guests can choose to socialize either in pairs or groups with a range of communal seating options. The new re-styled Lobby Bar Lounge, 38º North is a meritage of wines and flavors, proudly pouring more than 50 wines by the glass from handpicked local and international wineries. The Lounge’s unparalleled wines by the glass menu showcases cult favorites including Screaming Eagle, Kamen and the ever-popular sparkler, Dom Perignon Brut. Small plate menu offerings include:

• Cabernet Braised Beef “Poutine”, House made Fries, Bellwether Farms Crescenza
• Santé’s Celebrated Grown-Up Mac & Cheese, Lobster, Black Truffles, Organic Orecchiette,
Fontina Val d’Aosta
• Grass-Fed Beef Sliders, Caramelized Onions, Gruyère, Dijonnaise
• “Faux Foie Gras”, Sonoma Duck Liver Mousse, Madeira Gelée, Cinnamon Poached Prune, Crostini

California based KNA Designs and BraytonHughes design firms respected the property’s minimalist design while maximizing the historic nuances and mission-style architecture of the storied Inn. The enhanced incorporation of natural light and bursts of color produce timeless aesthetics. Exotic woods, original flooring, local art, and contemporary furniture complete the Wine Country inspired environment.

General Manager, Rick Corcoran boasts, “The upgraded designs throughout the property have successfully created a relaxed Northern California ambiance, suited to the hotel's location. We have taken the best of Wine County and made it even better!”
