Olympic Torch has arrived!

This past Friday, October 30, 2009, The Fairmont Empress had a bird's eye view to the inaugural arrival of the Olympic Torch in Victoria, British Columbia. Onboard a Department of National Defense jet from Olympia, Greece, the Torch arrived to start a trek of 105 days, 45,000 kilometres across Canada. The Olympic Torch is anticipated to be within 100 kilometres of every Canadian as it makes it cross-country journey. We were fortunate to have had the first glimpse of the Torch...and a few others had an even more intimate view~
