Honeymoon In the Rockies

My husband and I have known each other since fifth grade, and he patiently waited for me to return his affections that grew over the years. After dating three years in University we began planning our perfect wedding, and Fairmont mountain honeymoon filled with hiking, kayaking and canoeing.  However our plans underwent a transformation when two months prior to the wedding I was hit by a drunk driver and suffered serious injuries.  We opted to still embark on our dream honeymoon that was already meticulously planned and just limit the adventure aspect.  On the first day arrived in Lake Louise we decided to do a slow walk around the lake. We made it half way around before it began to pour buckets.  I kept anxiously checking with my new husband if I looked okay, as I was not use to wearing much makeup.  He continually  responded, "Honey, you look beautiful."  Trusting newlywed as I was I took him at his word.  It was not until I returned back to our beautiful hotel room at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise and looked in the mirror that I saw the real truth.  It was the moment that solidified to me why I married my childhood sweetheart- because even sopping wet, limping and a mess, he still sees the beauty in me.
