A Winter Wonderland Wedding

When my husband proposed on December 24, 2008 at the Chateau Lake Louise, I said to him "Could you imagine getting married here"? One year later my dream came true. I knew I had always wanted a winter wedding, what better way then getting married inside the Ice Castle with the Chateau Lake Louise as our backdrop. So on January 24, 2009, we, and 10 of our guests stood outside in -26 weather and said our vows. Surrounded by the stunning mountains, the ice castle, and families skating, it could not have been a more perfect winter wonderland. My Husband and I then took the amazing sleigh ride around the lake, what a breathtaking experience. After dinner we retired to our suite Fairmont Gold Floor. THE VIEW! We just sat by the window and stared, not believing that we had done it. The whole experience from the valet, to the staff in the Lakeview Lounge to the private lounge on the 7th floor made our weekend so special. We just celebrated our one year anniversary by returning to the Chateau and having lunch in the Lakeview Lounge, where Sarah, our server recognized us and arranged the Chef to prepare a special anniversary desert. She added such a special touch to our walk down memory lane. Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise will always be where our hearts are, there is magic in the mountains and love in the air.
