From Missed Opportunity to Treasured Experience

I was given the wonderful last minute opportunity to travel from Texas to Saskatoon, and then on to northern Saskatchewan, for some fishing up on the famed Hatchet Lake Lodge. But due to major travel delays from the
States, I ended up in Calgary far too late, and missed the special flight for my fishing destination. Not to be left
hanging long, I ended up spending the night, and then heading out for Banff, just after the next morning when
I had secured a car. Most people thought that I would have preferred Jasper to Banff, but I absolutely loved the
parklike setting of Banff and its magnificent river, and wonderful restaurants to match. I am a history buff to
beat all, so staying in the Banff Springs Hotel for an evening was an unmatched experience. I traveled the Glacier
Highway, as I believe it was called, for 4 days, taking countless pictures and planning my next return trip, when
I absolutely plan to stay in the Chateau Lake Louise, in between hiking and fishing.
