Almond Pound Cake

Ingredients
- Yield:
- Makes 2 large loafs.
- 1 lb butter
- 1 ib sugar
- 1 lb ground almonds
- 1 lb flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1.5 teaspoons salt
- 12 eggs
- 3 apples grated
- 1/2 cup candies mixed orange and lemon peel

Mixing Details
- Cream butter sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Sift flour, salt, baking powder together and mix in ground almonds.
- Add eggs to creamed butter and sugar one at a time
- Add to the egg butter mixture the mixed peel and apples.
- Gradually add flour and almond mixture.
Baking Instructions
- Bake at 325 F in lightly greased and floured loaf pans.
- Bake for 45-60 minutes or until a tooth pick can be inserted in the center and comes out clean.
- Allow to cool slightly before unmolding
- Allow to cool completely before serving
