Melvin and Elsa's Beautiful Wedding at Fairmont Jakarta

“Timeless and Elegant Wedding”

Congratulations on your wedding! What made you decide on having your wedding with us at Fairmont?

Fairmont Hotel Jakarta was recently built, with symmetrical and detailed furnishings. The hotel basks in high quality, in both the building and the service. It is conveniently located at the central/southern part of Jakarta town, which made it easy for family and friends to attend.

Where did you have your ceremony?

The holy matrimony was held at GKY Puri Indah, while the traditional Chinese tea ceremony and reception were held at Fairmont Hotel Jakarta.

Tell us about the flowers you chose. Did you go traditional or contemporary?

The flower bouquet consisted of earl grey ecuador roses with silver dust. The decorations in the hotel ballroom were mainly concentrated on the stage construction, which was inspired by the library at the University of Coimbra in Colombia.

Tell us about the meal you served your guests. What type and flavor cake did you have at your reception?

The meal was a mix of Indonesian and Chinese food, specially prepared by the Fairmont's fantastic banquet team. The wedding cake was prepared by Timothy cake, in a classic ivory colour.

Where did you go on your honeymoon? Tell us about it.

Japan! It was absolutely incredible, we went to Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka. It was the trip of a lifetime; we spent quality time together, discovered new places and enjoyed delicious food!

What element(s) did you add to make the wedding uniquely 'yours'?

The library stage backdrop gave the evening a sense of timeless elegance.

Another integral part of the day is the wedding dress! Tell us about what you chose to wear. Did you follow the old English saying "something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue"?

The dress was tailor made by Albert Yanuar, an upcoming Indonesian designer. It was a beautiful ballgown, with Victorian style embroidery.

What was the first song you danced to as newlyweds?

Our first song was Reincarnation by Pharrell Williams and Cara Delevingne. Our wedding itself was inpired by that very song. It was very romantic.

Now that you are married and have had time to reflect on your wedding day, what was your favorite moment?

Our favourite moment was the time we spent together with our beloved bridesmaids, bestmen and family members.
