A Fairmont Pacific Rim Wedding

“Happily ever after”

Congratulations on your wedding! What made you decide on having your wedding with us at Fairmont?

My husband is a former employee of the hotel and always wanted to get married there. We looked into it, went ahead, and could not have asked for a better location.

Where did you have your ceremony?

The wedding was at the Fairmont Pacific Rim's Star Sapphire ballroom. We wore traditional Korean attire during our reception. Our mothers also wore this and they were absolutely gorgeous.

Tell us about the flowers you chose. Did you go traditional or contemporary?

Our flowers were from Granville Island Florist and even two years later, we still get complements on how beautiful our flowers were. We visited the shop in the lobby of Fairmont Pacific Rim first and went to the store on Granville Island to discuss the arrangements.

Tell us about the meal you served your guests. What type and flavor cake did you have at your reception?

We went ahead with the 'Oru Lunch Experience' which included a delicious plate of charcuterie. Our cake was made by a friend of ours and was a vanilla cake.

Where did you go on your honeymoon? Tell us about it.

We decided to go to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic for our honeymoon. The resort was called "The Reserve at Paradisus Palma Real" and our swim-up suite was one of a kind. The beach, the food, we can't wait to visit again!

What element(s) did you add to make the wedding uniquely 'yours'?

We wanted to include our family members in the wedding as much as we could. From setting the table and head table to becoming our wedding singer, our family was with us from the beginning to the end.

Vendors & Service Providers:

Our photos were done by husband and wife team at Crystal Marie Sing Photography and they were fun and professional to work with. From the engagement session to our wedding, they were so accommodating and we truly were able to enjoy our sessions with them. We fell in love with their style of natural light photography and we have been recommending them to our friends ever since. (http://www.crystalmariesing.ca)

We looked around many places for flowers but were not able to choose a place for the longest time. When we went to Fairmont Pacific Rim to view the ballroom for our wedding, we saw the flower shop in the lobby and their service and product definitely caught our attention. The flower shop turned out to be the Granville Island Florist and their flowers are absolutely amazing and most importantly, they keep their promise with time and arrangements which was very important to us.
