I needed a weekend get-away before returning to work overseas and a busy holiday period. What better place than the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise one of the most beautiful places on earth!!
I am not a very experienced skier so thought I would go skating. I grew up skating but I am sure it has been a good 20 years since I donned a pair of skates but that did not deter me. Off I went to the shop to rent a pair of skates and away I went.
A bit wobbly the first minute it was then like riding a bike (which I was very much hoping it would be!!) and I was racing around the rink! Only two epic wipeouts the first day (a reminder....) and the next two days were fantastic as I skated on historic Lake Louise and peered at the majestic Chateau and the majestic Rockies...simply superb and one of the best weekends I could have imagined!!
