My Snowboard Trip to The Fairmont Chateau Whistler, BC

Believe it or not, I went to The Fairmont Chateau Whistler on the way back home from my trip to Hawaii!  Two great trips in one.

These pictures were taken mostly on the hills of Whistler and Blackcomb. The whole time I was there we didn't have any fresh snow, but of course once I leave they got tons...  So to ride the fresh powder that I came for we hiked one of the peaks and rode down. Riding in fresh deep snow is a lot harder than I thought it was going to be... haha.

The Fairmont Hotel was amazing though! The outdoor pool steams in the cold winter air and you can swim back indoors via a special flap that connects the indoor pool to the outdoor pool. There are also outdoor hot tubs which you can use at night.  The room service was amazing as well. I got the Butternut Chicken Bowl (forget the actual name on the menu?) and it was to die for.  My room even came with a sofa, which you can see in one of the pics above.

The nice thing about The Fairmont Chateau Whistler is its location on the mountain. It has its own chair lift and because it is a couple minute walk to the center of Whistler Village, it is a bit more quiet at night, away from the busy bars/clubs.

If you are travelling to Whistler I recommend that you take the Grey House Bus. It is a cheap way of getting to and from Whistler from Vancouver (if you buy the round trip ticket) and they can even pick you up from your hotel. It does make quite a few stops on the way up, but that gives you a chance to stretch your legs and take some pics of the amazing surroundings.

I can't snowboard the hills in Ontario anymore after snowboarding the Rocky Mountains in Whistler.... now I have to make this an annual trip!
