Family Vacation Inspires Artist to Paint The Empress

Vacationing in Victoria last summer (July 2013) was truly memorable! My father and mother are my best friends and spending a week at The Empress was a vacation of a life time. I'm an artist in Northern California and I enjoy painting travel destinations that inspire me. I painted the flower baskets that surround The Empress, because they were one of my mother's favorite memories of Victoria, as well as mine. It was a birthday gift for my mom's 59th in January.

My family would take evening walks and enjoy strolling around The Empress grounds, as well as the near by Beacon Hill Park. This painting came from the heart. I wanted people to feel the beauty and wonder found at The Empress and throughout Victoria.

I feel so lucky to have had such a lovely and beautiful vacation with my family! I can't wait to return to The Empress, but in the meantime, I will paint my memories...one paint stroke at a time.
