“We fell in love with the grounds and the spa”

Congratulations on your wedding! What made you decide on having your wedding with us at Fairmont?

We decided on the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn within minutes of our first visit. We were greeted by the wedding planner, Jamie Gansler and knew immediately that she would help us create the dream wedding in our minds. The scenery and the charm of the buildings sealed the deal. We fell in love with the grounds and the spa.

Where did you have your ceremony? Did you incorporate any special or cultural traditions?

We had our ceremony on the lawn, surrounded by the vines on the buildings. We knew the sun going down behind the greenery would create a perfect, romantic setting for our guests. We used a Chuppah and had a traditional Jewish ceremony.

Tell us about the flowers you chose. Did you go traditional or contemporary?

We chose to go with an old hollywood theme, this meant pale pinks, pale peach colors and white. We used Seascape flowers.

Tell us about the meal you served your guests.

We let the guests choose-some had an incredible pasta, some had the chicken and some had the steak. It was hard to narrow the choices down at our tasting-which was such a fun and special day!

What element(s) did you add to make the wedding uniquely ‘yours’?

We incorporated our love of our horses, Willow and Ponyboy. All the tables were identified by different breeds of horses instead of numbers. Each table card identified a famous horse in history, of that breed. This was my favorite part of wedding planning! What a crazy research project!

Now that you are married and have had time to reflect on your wedding day, what was your favorite moment?

Surprising my husband with a song about a horse, named after his horse Ponyboy. It's a Bruce Springsteen song.
