Congratulations on your wedding! What made you decide on having your wedding with us at Fairmont?

The stunning banquet rooms, they're truly breathtaking! The staff were amazing and so accommodating! The views of the Edmonton river valley and the fact that you walk into the hotel and you've forgotten that you're in a busy city.

Tell us about the flowers you chose. Did you go traditional or contemporary?

I loved my florals. They were about the only decorative touch we added to the room as the room itself was stunning. We used fresh floral arrangements in neutral colors for our table centrepieces.

Tell us about the meal you served your guests. What type and flavor cake did you have at your reception?

We had a seated dinner and gave our guests an entrée selection on our wedding invitation, which worked out really well. We had our guests name templates setup on the table in a way that was color corresponding with their entrée selection to help the hotel staff know which entrée goes where. The meal was great!

What element(s) did you add to make the wedding uniquely ‘yours’?

I kept the colors of our wedding very neutral, and this was again to keep the focus on the beauty of the room itself. We brought in chairs for the ceremony and reception. We added elements to give it a rustic, romantic feeling by adding touches of burlap and lace. Mercury candle holds and vases and then the fresh florals.

Another integral part of the day is the wedding dress! Tell us about what you chose to wear.

loved my dress from the moment I put it on! I had a vision of what I wanted prior to shopping and it turned out I loved it just as much once I had it on. I chose a Blue by Enzoani ivory, lace, modern mermaid gown with a strapless sweetheart neckline. I added a belt with rhinestone detail and of course a veil! So happy with the way it all came together!

What was the first song you danced to as newlyweds? Why did you pick that particular song?

Our first song was something we quite often listened to together in the vehicle on long drives and it was so fitting for our 'first' song! Jack Johnson - Better Together.

Now that you are married and have had time to reflect on your wedding day, what was your favorite moment?

Looking back, it truly was an amazing day with such emotions! As emotional as it was my favorite moment was when the doors opened for myself and my parents to walk down the aisle! Seeing all our friends and family there to share our day is about as good as it gets!
