Fairmont Colleagues Traverse Telluride's Via Ferrata

In July a group of colleagues at the Fairmont Heritage Place, Franz Klammer Lodge got together to traverse the Via Feratta. Italian for "Road of Iron," a Via Ferrata is an extreme traverse/climb equipped with fixed cables and iron pegs on the face of a mountain. The Via Ferrata in Telluride towers you over the box canyon with 200+ foot drops and gorgeous views of Bridal Veil Falls and town. The stunning - and sometimes scary - traverse took the group around three hours with lots of stops for enjoying the view and taking pictures!
The Via Ferrata is free and open to the public and is a great way to challenge yourself and enjoy the great outdoors while enjoying the beauty of Telluride. Please note that the traverse is fairly technical and all climbers should be comfortable with heights. The Jagged Edge in Telluride has equipment rentals available.
