Christmas at the Royal York

What luck!  I was able to catch the annual tree lighting at the Royal York in Toronto.  The Christmas spirit was building throughout my stay.  The tree was up, decorations were appearing, and the staff was downright jolly.  I saw a list of Christmas festivities and on the day I checked out, the tree was going to be lit.  I enjoyed the performance from the cast of Sound of Music and tasted some delicious snacks.  Most of the staff seemed to turn out and a large number of locals.  Every felt like a kid again as the tree was lit, carols were sung, and Santa made an appearance.  I’m glad I was afford this unique experience from a grand hotel.
