A Romantic Proposal to Remember

On Saturday, January 14th, local opera singer Yoni Rose, who is a student at the Maryland Opera Studio at the University of Maryland College Park, pulled off an extremely romantic proposal to his girlfriend Miriam Pollak. For over two weeks, Rose worked in secret with our Senior Concierge Kitt Vidnovic to plan the surprise proposal along with fellow students.
At 8:30pm, Yoni and Miriam were enjoying a cocktail in the Loggia Lounge. At 9:00pm, pianist Michael Langlois started to play a pre-arranged melody and Yoni Rose got up and started singing to Miriam about how much he loves her. Suddenly a chorus of singers, each carrying a rose, joined him in song.
Yoni walked over to Miriam, got on his knee and proposed. She accepted immediately! Hotel guests were mesmerized and many were in tears. The Fairmont Washington, D.C. presented a bouquet of roses, a bottle of champagne and a Fairmont gift card to the newly engaged couple!
