Tea Story:
Herb and fruit tea; in some circles is considered a new type of tea. This blend was specially formulated for The Fairmont to accommodate tastes of people who wanted to experience a refreshing healthy new style drink without caffeine. Everything is natural – dried fruits, dried herbs and natural flavors! An excellent tasting 'tea' that is unbelievably delicious and can be enjoyed Hot or Cold! The taste profile is exotic and stirs passionate memories and the blend of orange and pineapple flavors combined with the natural flavors and tartness of the various dried fruits create a summer time cooler or a wintertime summer reminder. 

How good is this tea and how good is it for you?
- The hibiscus component, of which there are more then 200 different types (the type used for this 'tea' is the Abelmoschus or the Sabdariffa type) is rich in Vitamin A, C and beta-carotene. Some reported health benefits of hibiscus are: 
  a) Replaces electrolytes and quenches thirst    b) Eases symptoms of colds and coughs.

- The rosehip component in known to be rich in Vitamin C and it has also been determined that they contain Vitamins a, D and E as well as traces of iron and calcium. Many people around the world consume rosehip tea for:
  a) To combat coughs and colds      b) Improve skin tone

- The sweet orange peel component is high in Vitamin C, which is know to assist in fighting the onset of colds or coughs.

As a hot drink Kea Lani should be consumed with a pinch of sugar. The sugar accentuates the flavor profile making it more intense and flavorful. The orange character virtually jumps out of the cup and the pineapple notes provide depth and character. For a summer time drink Kea Lani Orange Pineapple iced tea is hard to beat. It is refreshing and thirst quenching and not overly sweet. For formal times garnish the glass with a strawberry and a sprig of mint - for non-formal times pour it into your glass and enjoy it gulp after gulp! 

If you have small children use the Kea Lani Orange Pineapple tea to make popsicles – they contain very little sugar will be full of health Vitamins and taste great!

To make the perfect cup of Fairmont Tea:  Bring freshly drawn cold water to a rolling boil. Use 1½ -2 teaspoons of Kea Lani Orange Pineapple luxury loose tea or 1 tea bag of Kea Lani luxury tea for each 10 ounce /300 ml serving required. Pour boiling water into teapot. Cover and let steep for 5-7 minutes to desired strength - the longer the steeping time the more flavorful Kea Lani becomes. A dash of sugar may help enhance the flavor of this tea but it is perfectly acceptable to consume it 'straight-up.' Do not add milk!

To make the perfect cup of Fairmont Iced Tea:  (to make 1 liter/quart):  Place 12-15 teaspoons of Kea Lani luxury loose tea or 6-8 tea bags of Kea Lani luxury tea into a teapot or heat resistant pitcher. Steep for 5 minutes. Quarter fill a serving pitcher with cold water. Strain the tea into the pitcher. Add ice and top-up with cold water. Garnish and sweeten to taste. [A rule of thumb when preparing fresh brewed iced tea is to double the strength of hot tea since it will be poured over ice and diluted with cold water.]
