Organic Jasmine Butterfly #1 (Organic China Green Tea)

Tea Story:
Jasmine tea is one of the most pleasant tasting green teas available on the market.  On the nose the dry tea has a floral bouquet which literally causes your senses to come alive with pleasant thoughts. The flavor is enhanced with the addition of some jasmine blossoms which give the tea a visual appeal few other teas are capable of copying.

The production of jasmine tea is quite interesting. It is important to begin with high quality green tea - tea that has been produced between the middle of March and the middle of May. Equally important for jasmine tea are fine jasmine blossoms - flowers that bloom between the 15th of May and the end of July (these have the most intense aroma). Traditionally layers of jasmine blossoms were placed between fine green tea. In time the scent of the jasmine permeated the tea. Today, layers of jasmine blossoms are blended into the tea and allowed to 'sit' for 24 hours. The tea and flowers are then separated. Fresh flowers are again blended into the tea, 'sit' for 24 hours etc etc. This process happens 5 times. The best exhausted blossoms are used to decorate the tea. Produced in China, Butterfly #1 Jasmine tea yields a cup with all the concentrated heady bouquet of a garden in bloom.

To make the perfect cup of Fairmont Tea: Bring freshly drawn cold water to a rolling boil. Use 1 teaspoon of Jasmine Butterfly #1 luxury loose tea or 1 tea bag of Jasmine Butterfly #1 luxury tea for each 10 ounce/300 ml serving required. Pour the boiling water into the teapot. Cover and let steep for 3-7 minutes according to taste (the longer the steeping time the stronger the flavor). Do not add milk or sugar.

To make the perfect cup of Fairmont Iced Tea:  (to make 1 liter/quart):  Place 6 teaspoons of Jasmine Butterfly #1 luxury loose tea or 6-8 tea bags of Jasmine Butterfly #1 luxury tea into a teapot or heat resistant pitcher.. Pour 1 1/4 cups of freshly boiled water over the tea. Steep for 5 minutes. Quarter fill a serving pitcher with cold water. Pour the tea into your serving pitcher straining the leaves. Add ice and top-up the pitcher with cold water. Garnish. It is not customary to sweeten this tea. [A rule of thumb when preparing fresh brewed iced tea is to double the strength of the hot brew since it will be poured over ice and diluted with cold water.]
