Fairmont Equilibrium (Wellness Tea)

Cup Characteristics:  A satisfying and deliciously balanced blend. Exotic rooibos, anise and cardamom stand out, providing a refreshing and cleansing cup.
Luxury Ingredients:  Rosehip, Anise, Raspberry, Nettle, Licorice, Cardamom, Rooibos, Clove, Calendula + Safflower petals.

Information: According to the dictionary “equilibrium” is: a state of balance between opposing forces or actions that is either static or dynamic. A state of balance…it sounds great, but we all know how much of a challenge it can be to achieve that in this day and age.  For travelers in particular, maintaining a sense of physical and spiritual equilibrium can feel next to impossible. There are flights and flight delays, there’s waiting for luggage that may or may not arrive, foreign airports, stations and streets to navigate – sometimes it seems everything is conspiring to throw us off track.  Thankfully, Fairmont Equilibrium is here to help restore a little balance.

From the first sip of this spectacular blend, the body seems to reconfigure itself along a more peaceful meridian. Chilean rosehip makes an excellent tonic for a tired and worn out body. Anise was well known amongst ancient Egyptians to rejuvenate the digestive system and soothe your respiratory pathways and raspberry is known to improve your vitality. Licorice is a powerful herb that eases body tensions and clears the respiratory system. The spice components of clove and cardamom jump start your entire body. There is much historical evidence to suggest that Nettle, a component of the blend has the ability to settle the body. Some natural historians report that ancient druid herbalists frequently prescribed nettle for its natural medicinal properties.  Likewise calendula, has long been prized by herbalists for its ability to cleans and detoxify the body, in particular the liver and gallbladder.  Safflower, another component is also believed in natural medicine circles to enhance blood circulation and restore balance to the body.

Taken together, these herbs work to restore internal order in the body and make us feel better about ourselves.  (Not only that, but they taste great!  The cup offers a mellow herbaceous character with light spice that our taste testers found irresistible.) The next time you’re feeling a little out of the loop, ask for a cup of Fairmont Equilibrium, your body will thank you.

Hot tea brewing method:  Bring freshly drawn cold water to a rolling boil. Place 1 teaspoon of tea or 1 teabag for each 8 ounces of fluid volume in the teapot. Pour the boiling water into the teapot. Cover and let steep for 3-7 minutes according to taste (the longer the steeping time the stronger the tea). This tea is best when consumed without milk or sugar.

Iced tea-brewing method:  (to make 1 liter/quart):  Place 6 teaspoons of tea or 6 teabags into a teapot or heat resistant pitcher. Pour 1 1/4 cups of freshly boiled water over the tea. Steep for 5 minutes. Quarter fill a serving pitcher with cold water. Pour the tea into your serving pitcher straining the leaves. Add ice and top-up the pitcher with cold water. Garnish and sweeten to taste. [A rule of thumb when preparing fresh brewed iced tea is to double the strength of hot tea since it will be poured over ice and diluted with cold water].
