In Good Spirits

Interview by Eve Thomas

When traveling, I wear — Jeans and a T-shirt. I also bring a light coat or cashmere sweater.
What’s in my carry-on — Everything, since I never check luggage. I usually have an iPad for music, movies and work, and a passport since you never know where you might end up. I also have cash, a toothbrush, shirts, jeans and board shorts for surfing.
Piece of home I carry with me — Pictures of my wife [model Cindy Crawford], kids and dad.
Favorite family trip — Tanzania, on safari. We spent a week and stayed at tented camps. It is the best experience you will ever have with  your kids.
Dream travel companion — My wife.  She has traveled so much for her career, she takes care of all the details, so all I have to do is carry the bags.
Best way to get to know a city — Visit the local bar and talk to the bartenders.
Favorite city — New York.
Jet-lag remedy — Casamigos tequila and a good night’s sleep. If I arrive late, I usually go to the hotel bar and have a tequila or two. That either leads to another or I’m ready for bed. Either way, I wake up ready to go.
Favorite bar in the world for sipping tequila — Café Habana Malibu.
My idea of travel happiness is — Taking off on time and arriving on time to meet friends for dinner.
