On December 21, 2010 in the intimate Private Dining Room at Pyramid Restaurant & Bar, Executive Chef André Natera was inducted into the World Master Chef’s Society (WMCS) – the leading international organization of world class chefs. His inauguration into the society was based on a commitment to the artistry of fine cuisine, passion for culinary excellence and a drive to bring together traditional values, extensive expertise and modern day technology, guaranteeing his personal and professional development. In attendance at the 15-person dinner were Chef Shari Carlson, WMCS board member, pastry chef and owner of Dessert Dreams; Chef Morris Salerno, president of the WMCS USA Chapter and owner of Salerno’s restaurant; Chef Karl Haas, WMCS chapter founder and president emeritus; Chef Thomas Welther, WMCS board member and executive chef at Hilton Anatole; Chef Patrick Mitchell, WMCS board member; Chef Natera’s wife, Linda and a handful of media and Fairmont Dallas colleagues.

Before the five-course meal was served, which was prepared by Chef Natera and his culinary team and paired with wines by sommelier Hunter Hammett, WMCS chapter founder and president emeritus Chef Karl Haas spoke to the group about the Fairmont’s enduring connection to the society, which dated back to an international competition held at the hotel in the early 80’s, which the US WMCS team won. Natera is the first new member inducted in two years.
