Picture Perfect: Big Apple Style

A weekend of fashion means: bubbly at the Champagne Bar, a picnic in Central Park and, of course, shopping at Bergdorf Goodman. The Plaza, A Fairmont Hotel, a part of Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, partnered with  trendy fashion influencer Blair Eadie, creator of the popular blog Atlantic Pacific, to create the ideal New York City staycation. Using Fairmont’s Choose Your Moment program, Blair received a customized itinerary perfect for both her and her puppy, social media’s beloved vegan foodie and hungry, Cookie. They experienced New York’s charm, beauty and sublime array of boutiques and  strutted the streets as if they were her very own runway. Watch Blair's stylish moments unfold throughout the city with her stunning video, and find more fashion-inspiring content from her social channels of Instagram, Twitter, BlogLovin, Facebook and YouTube.

The Plaza Hotel makes for the perfect photo shoot. Its construction began in 1883, and throughout its noteworthy timeline has remained an important part of New York's architecture, even through a 1905 rebuild and a total renovation from 2005 to 2008. Throughout the years, it has hosted The Beatles, served as Frank Lloyd Wright’s home for six years and played a role in "The Great Gatsby" as well as many other literary and film works. One of its most notable residents, Eloise the children's book star, even has a suite designed by none other than Betsey Johnson and is available to all. This combination of glamour and history provides an exquisite background for fashion-forward clientele like Blair and Cookie. Blair is photo ready in a bold floral ASOS Salon maxi dress and a royal blue reefer coat by Smthe.

With a flute of bubbly at The Champagne Bar, Blair took in the grand chandeliers, amazing tile work and beautiful ceilings and said, "I cannot get over the details of this hotel.” And yet there’s so much more to see, like Central Park, which is just steps outside the hotel, the perfect place for a stroll and a picnic, not to mention it’s one of Blair’s favorite spots in the city. With help from The Plaza’s friendly staff, she set off for the park with a pre-packed picnic from the Todd English Food Hall, a 3,500-square foot food emporium designed by Jeffrey Beers and specializing in rustic Mediterranean cuisine. Donning the latest couture, a Burberry Baybrooke Hooded Wool Duffle Coat paired with J. Crew's Velvet Ankle-Strap heels in gilded amber, Blair headed out to find the perfect Central Park location for her gourmet spread of charcuterie, cheeses and fruit. She then topped off her afternoon with a relaxing walk and canoe ride. That evening, she was back for dinner at Todd English, this time stopping to admire its mosaic marble floors and Versailles worthy mirrors. She followed this by heading just outside the restaurant's doors to The Plaza Food Hall, which features free-stand food vendors like Epicerie Boulud, FP Patisserie, Sabi Sushi and Luke’s Lobster. It’s a good thing Blair is a decisive woman. Among all this goodness she chose the perfect glass of pinot at Vin Sur Vingt and a cupcake at Billy’s Bakery.

A staycation provides a wonderful way to not just shop but to relax as well, and Blair did just that in her luxurious room, with treats for Cookie and a slew of her favorite fashion magazines. Feeling restored, she ventured back to The Champagne Bar wearing head-to-toe pink for a peaceful brunch. First opened with the hotel in 1907 as the Champagne Porch, this celebrated spot may have been renovated in 2014, but it still overlooks one of the city’s best views, Fifth Avenue and The Pulitzer Fountain. What Blair loved best was the surrounding Eloise-inspired pink, saying “If you go, you must stop by the Eloise shop!” Speaking of shopping, Blair got down to business with an “obligatory shopping trip at Bergdorf Goodman” and lunch at their BG Restaurant, wearing none other than Valentino and Dolce & Gabbana.

With a few purchases to her credit, the Atlantic Pacific star took on more of the city’s delights, this time with wondrous views from the Brooklyn Bridge followed by an afternoon pick-me-up via cappuccino at Ralph’s Coffee, located above the Polo Ralph Lauren Flagship store on Fifth Avenue. More window shopping and boutique visits filled her must-do list. At the Larsson Jennings Bleecker Street store she marked the Norse watch in gold as "the perfect touch," she noted Meradyth Pumps at Club Monaco as "must have," and found Linda Farrow Luxe Round Oversized Glasses as a favorite pick for sunglasses, her signature accessory. Back at the Palm Court, Blair relaxed with an exotic cocktail and reflected upon her wonderful weekend.

Want to transform New York into your very own runway like Blair and indulge in shopping, champagne and a picnic in the park? Whether with a staycation or a whole new adventure, the city has all the inspiration you need to make your dream happen, from history to food, drink and, perhaps most importantly, fashion.
