View from Room 1511

One of the most unique aspects of any stay at Fairmont Baku, Flame Towers is the view from the guest rooms. This particular shot was taken from room 1511 and shows the sweep of the Caspian Sea to the right (the largest inland sea in the world) and in the centre, the ancient Inner (Old) City of Baku with the modern city behind it.

The tower right in the middle of the shot is the Maidens Tower which dates back to the twelfth century and is part of the old walled city of Baku. Next to the tower is the Shirvanshah's Palace dating back to the 15th century. Both buildings are designated UNESCO World Heritage sites.
