France & Yann's Fairmont Le Montreux Palace Wedding

“The wedding was oUT of A fairy tale.”

Congratulations on your wedding! What made you decide on having your wedding with us at Fairmont?

We could have the venue in a garden, close to a lake with a stunning view and the available support of a wedding team.

Where did you have your ceremony?

In the Montreux Palace gardens, with traditional occidental culture.

Tell us about the flowers you chose. Did you go traditional or contemporary?

We chose seasonal flowers that would match the wedding's theme colors with pastel colors and soft contrast. The outcome was close to traditional with a touch of modernity.

Tell us about the meal you served your guests. What type and flavor cake did you have at your reception?

The meal was refined and tasteful. We opted for a "Filet de Boeuf" as main course which delighted everybody. We have had a lot of positive feedback on the meal. The cake was chocolate flavored and layered in three: Dark chocolate and mint, milk chocolate and orange and white chocolate and raspberries.

Where did you go on your honeymoon? Tell us about it.

Our honeymoon started in New York City for one week. After walking and visiting all Manhattan, the second part brought us to the Bahamas for two and a half more weeks.

What element(s) did you add to make the wedding uniquely 'yours'?

We enjoyed taking care of every detail. We created a website (from scratch) to allow our guest to easily respond to our invitation (custom made), and have all pre- and post-wedding information and pictures. We covered the provided brown chairs with white cloth covers and offered customized bottles of water for our guests during the ceremony. A customized glass box with a rose inside carried our wedding bands for the ceremony. The groom composed several important songs and the bride created the wedding tree. We chose a petals send-off to keep it romantic. We built a framed table plan matching our wedding's theme and prepared a Candy Bar for midnight snacks. Guests could bring home small presents that were arranged on the tables.

Another integral part of the day is the wedding dress! Tell us about what you chose to wear. Did you follow the old English saying "something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue"?

The traditional bride followed the old saying. Her dress, made of tulle and lace, was a Vera Wang she had a crush on a few years ago. It matched the venue perfectly!

What was the first song you danced to as newlyweds?

The first dance song was been composed by the groom for the occasion. It was a classical and romantic song, which fit the atmosphere of the beautiful "Salle des fêtes".

Now that you are married and have had time to reflect on your wedding day, what was your favorite moment?

The whole wedding was our favorite moment, from the speeches of our family and friends, to the joyful atmosphere, through to the more intimate moments such as exchanging the rings, vows, etc. We cherish every memory.
