$5 buys a lot especially 65 years later

Recently we were contacted by the children of Mr. and Mrs. Red (William) Clark, who stayed at The Empress on their wedding day back on June 12 & 13, 1945 and paid $5.00 night.  The children wanted to arrange a stay for their parents to celebrate their forthcoming 65th wedding anniversary. In the process, they sent us the original receipts showing the $5.00 a night charge for their stay. We knew it must have been a very special experience to have kept the receipt this long, and were delighted to inform the Clarks we'd gladly welcome them back for the same rate of $5.00 a night for their stay on June 12 & 13, 2010! In addition, we have been able to confirm them in the same room number as when they stayed back in 1945.
