Gingerbread Fizz

Ingredients

Yield:

• • 1 teaspoon ginger purée
  • 1 oz Captain Morgan Spiced Rum
  • 1 oz Five spices syrup 
  • ½ oz Lemon juice
  • 2-3 oz Chilled Sparkling wine

• Ingredients - five spices syrup

  • Cinnamon sticks
  • Cloves
  • Star anise
  • Peppercorns
  • Fennel

1. Preparation - five spices syrup

   1. Crush cinnamon sticks, cloves, star anise and peppercorns in a mortar
   2. Add water and sugar
   3. Boil for 20 minutes, let rest to cool, strain.

2. Preparation - cocktail

   1. In a shaker, pour all ingredients over ice, except the Sparkling wine
   2. Shake, strain and pour in a martini glass
   3. Top with Sparkling wine and garnish with a thin slice of fresh gingerroot
