This week, the children of Mr. and Mrs. Molly and Hank Roberts reached out to us to share a lovely photo of their parents, who honeymooned at the Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac in 1946.

The Roberts were married in New York City on February 10, 1946. After the wedding, they travelled by train to Quebec City, arriving at Le Chateau Frontenac a few days later. In 1946 the average cost of a house was $12,500, bread was 10 cents a loaf and an average yearly salary was $3,150. Things sure have changed over the last 64 years, but we hope the Roberts’ love has remained the same, and we wish them a very happy 65th wedding anniversary in 2011.
