Pegah & Kyle's Gorgeous Fairmont Pacific Rim Wedding

“Full of love and support from our family and friends from around the world. ”

Congratulations on your wedding! What made you decide on having your wedding with us at Fairmont?

It was important for us to celebrate our special day at a venue where we could trust the team to execute all of the planning and details to perfection. We found our stress free wedding experience at Fairmont Pacific Rim.

Where did you have your ceremony?

We held both a civil ceremony and a traditional Persian ceremony in the Sapphire Ballroom foyer. We then held our reception at the Emerald ballroom where the floor to sealing windows added to the ambiance of the entire evening.

Tell us about the flowers you chose. Did you go traditional or contemporary?

Flowers were a centrepiece of our wedding. Blush, cream and peach toned flowers were elegantly displayed throughout the venue, really bringing out the natural garden theme we had in mind.

Tell us about the meal you served your guests. What type and flavor cake did you have at your reception?

We worked closely with the Chef to create a customized buffet that incorporated our unique dietary needs. All the time that went into planning the menu was well worth it as all of our guests spoke highly of the food! We chose to have two flavours of cake at our wedding, white chocolate and hazelnut ganache, as well as an assortment of other deserts.

Where did you go on your honeymoon? Tell us about it.

We flew out to Jamaica the morning after the wedding. Even though we were exhausted, it was important for us to head to our honeymoon right away and spend some quality time together after the busy season leading up to the wedding.

What element(s) did you add to make the wedding uniquely 'yours'?

We focused on the fact that we had two very unique cultures coming together and ensured that the wedding was a perfect reflection of this cultural union. Every detail in the wedding had a special meaning to us, from the customized ceremony, to the speeches, wedding favours, we kept our family, friends and culture in mind the entire time. It was perfect!

Another integral part of the day is the wedding dress! Tell us about what you chose to wear. Did you follow the old English saying "something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue"?

Growing up I used to swoon over my grandmother and mothers wedding dresses. The commonality their dresses shared was that they were both timeless. I applied the same theory to my dress shopping and came across a dress by Agusta Jones in Bisou Bridal in Vancouver. The moment I tried it on, I knew that it was the timeless and classic dress that I wanted to get married in. Perhaps more importantly, I am confident that my granddaughters will love grandma's dress!

What was the first song you danced to as newlyweds?

Our first song was XO by John Mayer.

Now that you are married and have had time to reflect on your wedding day, what was your favorite moment?

Our first dance was definitely our favourite moment. As we were dancing, my husband reminded me of how lucky we are to be in a room full of people that had flown from around the world to be celebrate with us.
